I am thinking of trading in my 2008 Road King Classic on a 2011 flhtk electra glide ultra limited psychedelic purple. The sales girl at my dealership is telling me that they did not make to many of this color, how true is this and does anybody have an idea on how many were made?

Sorry I can't tell you how many were made but I'm not suprised they didn't paint many in that color.... Hmmmm... I think it's one of those colors that one would either love or hate.

Just a suggestion to think to the future before you buy-- would it be a color that might be difficult to 'get rid of' when you wanted to sell or trade?

No matter what anyone says if you like it that's all that matters!

 

Yep, it's a limited custom color. HD usually does 2 or 3 per model year...only 2 for the 2011's. The purple is the 'fall' color, available from Aug thru Dec. The Jan thru May color is Apple green over Black. You also get a 'script' tank badge & an additional $200 added to the price.

All that to say...yes it is very limited availability, and spread over all models. Hard to know how many of each is produced.

I saw one at Tallahassee HD and thought is looked very cool but I guess I am partial. As stated, you are the only one that has to kike it. I love mine, had it repainted same color because of all the compliments I get on the color. Personally I think it is something you have to see in person to appreciate,

 

Saw it, Liked it, but I think the cryptonite and black on the 2011 CVO SG is just BAD ***. Second is the blue and black that I have, but if you like it that is what it is.

 

I love my Psychedelic Purple Limited but then I rode an a Fugly Roadglide and loved that. Seriously it is a beautiful and unique color, which will stand out in a crowd. I receive a lot of compliments (so obviously theres a lot of sick liars out there!).

I wouldn't make a decision to buy a bike with the idea of worrying whether it will sell, it's a Harley, it will sell! If nothing else do a trade in.

I haven't seen another one in my area (Nor Cal).

 

On the plus side.... You will be able to pick out your Putt from all of the others at bike night. You'll be able to walk right up to it and NOT have to hunt through the sea of black to find it.

 

I kind of liked purple but my wife didn't and it's her favorite color. Bought the Ultra Limited in Cherry Red Sunglo / Merlot Sunglo from H-DOG (HD of Greenville) last Friday night. It's sweet..

 

Saw one in Vegas, didn;t think I would like it (HD colors lately leave a lot to be desired) but the purple actually did look good.....Just didn;t like the idea of paying extra for a bike that is half custom paint and black (cheap color)
