I have the lowers on my Roadglide. The SE Roadglide was the only RG model to come with them from the factory. I love them. I also have Cruise Control and love it too.

I gotta dig my digital camera out! I move a couple of months ago and haven't seen it since, but I gotta tell you...do it! I put vivid black lowers on my vivid black 06 SG and I think they look awesome. When the bike is lowered like the SG, it just seems to fill in the open space nicely and makes the bike appear even more hunkered down and complete. I know we set ourselves up for the "why didn't you just get an Ultra" questions, but frankly I don't care. I could give 20 reasons why. Fact is, the SG is it's own bike, and it happens to look very cool with shiny vented lowers on it. Now the best part; I had never ridden a bike with lower fairings on it before...WOW. All the windshield, fairing wings, etc don't touch the improved operating joy and wind tunnel type improvement of lower fairings. None of that harsh wind hitting your lower legs at 80, the bike cuts through the air much more crisply, and knocks down the wind that used to try and creep up under the upper fairing. Everything has gotten smoother with them on. Plus, with the vents, you can just pop them open and feel the rush of cool air toward your feet and the motor and at a light you can twist the **** and close them up for more isolation. I would have bought them for their looks alone, but now wouldn't ever take them off for rideability.

Put them on mine and love the look. When they first brought it out of the shop after they added the lowers and the spots people mobbed it for a closer look.

i must agree with the comments everyone has made. i put them on my blkcherry sg and they look great and function even better...
i am sure when the warm weather comes the lowers will get wrapped up and put in a box, waiting for next winter. as far as the cruise control, well, i have over 20,000 miles on my 06...i cant tell you how many of them were controlled by the cruise...of the two modifications i would say that the cruise is #1, i would never own another glide without it.

If you don't want to go with such an expensive or permanent option, you may want to look into these soft fairing lowers offered by HD

http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US

I bought them years ago and ride with them often in the spring and fall, and when forced to ride through rain. They literally go on and off in seconds. They block wind and water; and make the cool rides much more comfortable. When it gets hot and you'd like more air moving over you and your engine, its just a matter of popping the two buckle clips [per side] and pulling them off your engine guards.

Yea, the soft lowers do work pretty well.

I have a set of those also, I used them for a few years before buying the hard lowers.

I just installed the lowers on my Black Cherry '06 a few weeks ago. Only had the chance to do a quick ride on them , but I agree that they make a huge difference, especially in the ealry fall morning temps. Ordered them from Zanotti's - good discount, and I got them in less than 3 weeks. Dealer told me it would be 10 - 12 weeks since it is a custom painted item. Their loss again.

Will post some pics this weekend.

Would only have lowers....if I was SHORT! Always stretched out on the Cruiseboards and I could never get the inward adjustment angle I have now, with lowers.
