Default Eny Miny Miny Mo..... which tires to get, i just cant decide

Do I get the Metzeler 880's or the Avon Cobra's, I just can't decide. I know both tires are good one's to get. I know cost more than the other. I know Denniskirk. com is the place to get them from. I did notice that the Metz. 130/70B/18 are listed for a Goldwing, common sense tells me that the tire will work for a better motorcycle.

I'm also doing dynabeads for the first time.

My riding area is Cape Cod, MA on a 2010 StreetGlide.

Look into the Pirelli Night Dragons. I've run Metzler tires on 3 scoots, not tried Avon but LOVE the Night Dragon tires.

Dunlop E3. There are hundreds of "what tire" threads here. It's like oil threads...everybody has a different opinion, and like me, will offer what they feel to be a better choice over the ones you listed.

I have looked at the E3's and pirelli's, they don't make them in the 180/65b/16 size.

front is 130/70b/18
rear is 180/65b/16

I think I have read every tire thread on this forum.............

They make them in the American Elite series. For the rear anyway.

Available for Harley-Davidson touring bikes, 2009 models and newer, in sizes 130/80B17 and 180/65B16.

I can vouch for the Metzler's, which I have now and bought to replace E3's, which are way over rated, and all about the same price. Did buy my last two sets from Dennis Kirk, BTW. Regardless of which manufacturer you use, make sure you look closely at load ratings. For instance, with my last set, Jake Wilson's prices initially looked better than Dennis Kirk but were for a lower weight rated tire-same size and brand. With a touring bike, if you run two up and loaded, you will be much happier in the long run with a more durable tire.

In my part of the Midwest I mostly see stock Dunlops on touring bikes and couldn't get any real feedback from riders using Avons. Tried the Dunlop E3's on a friends advice and wasn't satisfied. The Metzler's have a better feel to me, don't hunt and are a lot quieter than E3's.
