I am sending my Stock Head Unit to IronCross. They'll put 2-Pre-amp outputs on the back of the radio. Make all the upgraded improvements and turn the fader on, for the rear speakers.
I'm not sure if this fosgate is the way to go,... or go w/my original plan and buy the Hawg-Wired ZX series thats cumin out in March, 4-channel 400 watt, but that will run my front 4,...and I have a 150 watt Hawg-Wired amp i've been using for the past 2 years, to run the Cyclesound lids.
They are Polk Marine db speakers.
But thats my plan, and should be simple enough.
4-channel amp for the front 4 speakers,...
2channel amp for the rear 2-6x9's.
with Ironcross setn my radio up like that, should be plug-n-play!

Have you considered replacing the head unit ?? It'll definately be the weakest link in an otherwise decent sound system. Don't be too concerned about the whole "plug & play" deal,..................there's not a whole lot involved ,....even if you have to install the Biketronics module.

Considering the $$ you are gonna drop at Iron Cross, and the $$ that your HK will bring on EBAY,.............you could have a pretty decent head unit.

What will the voltage be on the pre-amp outs ,....if Iron Cross does it ??

Whatever you choose,....good luck, and keep us posted !!!!

Voltage?
I guess Iron Cross could tell ya,...cause I have no clue!
Dont aftermarket Radios have connections to run 2-amps?
I guess, if they do, that would b the way Iron Cross would set it up.

Pre-amp out voltage varies by head unit. Some have 2V , which is average, some more. Obviously, the more power that you put out to the amp, the better. Same with the outputs . Some have 2, some more.

I assume it's directly related to $$. My Kenwood has 5V outs, and has 3 of them, but ,......very costly.

When you find out,...it would be beneficial to a lot of guys to know.

I know that everyone seems to love the Iron Cross updates. GOOD LUCK !!

Default Icr

I am still thinking seriously about the RF stuff. I cant wait for it to come out so one of us can give it a test fly. Sometimes i think, ya know I can hear my radio ok now, then that all goes away and I want it to ROCK!!!!

Back in the day rf made some high end head units, which makes me wonder if there is something in the works for a new head unit coming out. I was at the Easyriders show too and I thought I saw some kind of rf head unit on yaffes roadglide. Pics are on his site too. Im hoping it is what I thought I saw!

Default Paul

Just got off the phone with Paul and he says the reality date for availability on the RF stuff (300 X 4 amp) will more than likely be closer to June 1. He is also going to be doing complete kits with the RF stuff like he does now with Hog Wired amps and the chioce of what RF speaks ya want. Will be dramaticly less money and as good if not better products. The head units are in the works also. He was talking about a HK like one and a touch screen one, but no dates on that stuff yet. He is a super nice and very informative guy. I think it will be worth the wait.
