Default Looking for xm radio thread

Installed a xm radio kit on the wifes streetglide and awhile ago I saw a thread on how to remove the extra plugs that are not needed...cb..bluetooth...etc. Decided to clean up the harness today but I cant find the thread. Most of it was depining the plugs but in one part you had to cut and splice a wire.

Used the search feature but still cant find it.

Anyone remember the thread?

Thanks

It's unfortunate the HD says to buy the non-Ultra overlay harness (NUOH), p/n 70169-06, to install the XM on non-Ultra bikes, since so much of that harness won't be used if the bike is only going to have XM. All that additional wiring for CB module, rider headset, passenger headset, rear speakers/controls, etc. ends up with the harness costing $120.

HD should do what they did for the Ipod and NIM modules installs which permit use of the NUOH or a much simpler harness, p/n 69200033, that costs only $25. What's needed is a connection to the 35 wire connector on the back of the HK radio and the XM module, just as the Ipod and NIM modules needs a connection to the 35 wire connector on the radio and the module.

Here's the wiring diagram and parts for the 69200033 harness showing its connection to the Ipod or NIM module:

It would be a very simple task to modify the 69200033 harness for use with the XM module and offer this as an alternative to hacking a $120 NUOH. Alternatively, simply buy the 35 wire connector and sockets to fab a harness for the XM module.
