Default 120R + SuperTrapp 2:1

I'm sure I already know the answer.

A) Deposit paid on 120R
B)should I go SuperTrapp SuperMeg 2:1 before, or wait.

I can't get this out of my head

Wait for what? going to need a bigger pipe for sure. It comes down to which one. I think all the posts I have seen, D and D Boarzilla have been the pipe of choice. I was considering the supertrap as well, did not like to look and they are tuneable, but a good tune will make any good pipe work. Nothing that works will be quiet. I went D and D with quiet baffle

The SuperTrapp Supermegs 2-1 was tops in HP in an indy mag shootout, and was a choice of a SoCal custom line of choppers. Fit and finish clearly outstanding. I'm sure glad I passed on the other systems and bought it. A tuneable pipe that can be configured to run open (LOUD!) or closed-end cap (q-u-i-e-t) just by turning an allen wrench. I had no idea how quiet a top-performing pipe could be, but SuperTrapp proved it to me!

Screw it,

I'm going Supertrapp tomorrow.

Let the stock headpipe fall where it may!!!

SE Exhaust [Black] and Black exhaust shields may be for sale soon.

The tunablility of the supertrapp is a big plus-
A tuner can alter the ignition timing and fuel delivery to match a motor.
The advantage of a tunable pipe is to match the control of flow from the intake, the cam and heads, then the exhaust pulses.
Once the flow characteristics are perfected, then the timing and fuel can be dialed in.

and the superior flow with noise control.
LOUD gets pretty tiring on the road, not only for the rider but for companions

I've run a supermeg 2/1 on my FXR for over 20 years- great fit and finish, and as the motor ( Evo) and gearing on the bike have changed, the pipe has been tuned to match.

I am sitting on a couple of new billet White Brothers snuf R nots for the 4" for those loud days and quiet nights.

tuning guesses ( and i am NOT an expert, but have been running a tuning supertrapps for a long time on my own bikes) and alot depends on the cams

I would think that a place to start would be a stack of 28 to 30 discs with closed end cap

the open end cap ( "competion use only") is equal to about 10~12 discs- you could try that with 18~20 discs if you want louder.

more restriction = torque 2500~ 4000 rpm

less restriction = HP 4000~ 6000 rpm

for my bikes:

the FXR has the 2/1 80" cam high comp etc. 20 discs

evo FLHTC stock motor and cam, slip ons 14 right, 18 left

TC 96" stock motor and cams, slip ons 16 right, 10 left

getting big numbers on the dyno is real gratifying especially when you have a new build ,but you only look at the dyno sheet a couple of times and the novelty wears off then you file it somewhere with the rest of your paper work and forget about it,if it took a loud pipe to get those few extra horsepower you now have to put up with that obnoxious SOB day in and day out ,I went through this and now I am running the supermeg ,it is quiet and makes good power maybe not the most on the dyno but you will not likely notice any difference on the street other than the quiet rumble of the supermeg while relaxing on a nice long ride.
