Leather Jacket Advice
I'm looking for a high quality leather riding jacket without the high quality price. Mainly looking for something that will last for at least 5 years and provide good overall road rash and wind protection. I've seen them range from $99.00 to over $1000.00, but have no idea on what to look for in a jacket other than looks and price. Any input is appreciated.

LeatherUp.com, a site sponser has a ton of choices at good prices. I bought a "Classic Men's X-Force Black Racer Motorcycle Jacket" and my wife got the ladies version this winter. Haven't had them on the road yet but they look and feel pretty good for the money, under $100.
Service outstanding.

FWIW, my 2 cents is your going to get what you pay for. My experience, jacket, chaps and gloves, is the discount leather stuff does not hold a candle to quality, aka pricey, items. The good stuff just works and feels better and is nowhere near as bulky. Find something you like and shop around for it.

like most of us I have a bunch of leathers.
the H-D switchback 3 in 1 nylon is the best jacket I've had in over 30 years riding. ( similar to the FXRG but I find the nylon more flexible for hot/warm/cold)
if you go for leather look for thickness as well as supple flexibility, look for sleeves that have give so the cuffs aren't at your elbows when riding.
zip in liner
long enough in the back to keep your kidneys warm and protected.
deer hide is great too.
just be aware there are riding leathers and 'fashion" leathers

I bought the one above some years ago, though I think I paid about 20 bucks less for it, then. It is HEAVY and tough, with a plastic liner inside the provide extra protection. When I had my wreck, it did an excellent job of saving my hide, and I still use it, even with the road rash on it.
