The 3.0 works well in these chilly Texas mornings.

I wear the Starter brand knock-off stuff that Walmart sells every night to work. It works pretty darn good for a fraction of the price. I'm not seeing the $$ for UA. Polyester is Polyester. With that said, IMO it is tough to beat the brown military poly-pro stuff when it gets really cold.

+1 on the polys!!!! Don't know about the crotch thing though LMAO!!
They gave us a bunch of UA for work and for training and I wear it at work just because the polys are a tad too hot for in and out of doors, but just for outdoors only, polys, hands down.
I use the socks all the time though just because I really like them for they are light weight. if it weren't that they bought them for our teams, I would not more than likely have any other than one pair to try and not like.

+1 on the Walmart version. Cheaper and works just as good. I like to wear it in the summer under my t shirt, the short sleeve version that is. I swear I feel cooler that way.

+1 on UA cold gear, price is high but well worth it. The material lasts a long time, I am going about 6 years with my turtleneck long sleeve shirt.

I have never tried Under Armour in the cold, but wear their shirts and shorts in hot weather. They are great for hot weather. My shirt does not stick to my back rest like my cotton shirts do. They are also fairly easy to wash in a motel sink or shower when traveling and are dry enough to wear the next day.

I use the 3.0 gear as a base layer. As the days warm up you can get that crotch pot cooking thing going. I buy in the spring when the items are on sale.

I've got the base layer 2.0 very comfy doesn't feel like your wearing long johns. Only wore them in the 50s so far didn't think I needed the thickest being in Florida but they make a big difference well worth the 50 bucks. Order a size larger than you would normally thou

I have the UA 3.0 and have only worn them once. I rode 50 mi. to work and it was 31* when I left and when I got to work an hour later it was 28*. The only thing that was really cold was my hands. I like them. I wasn't happy with the price when I bought them but now I think I got a deal.
