Don't go overboard spending for a helmet, you'd be wise to toss it in the trash: The industry standard for helmet life is 5 years from date of manufacture or first significant impact.
It seems that the HJC FS2 is the Best Bargain , with the GMax GM55S very close behind. I am surprised that the HD brand does not have one that can compete in price with those ?
It's no bargain if it doesn't fit and/or isn't comfortable.
Was in a shop today tryin' on lids. Bell Drifter and Bell Shorty - needed different sizes in each. Ya' gotta try 'em on to determine what works for your dome.
When I use it, Scorpion EXO-100. Sits low, has a removable liner you can wash, padding that wraps around the base/back of your head. The neatest feature is the visor, it flips down like a fighter pilot helmet and flips back up in to the helmet for the wind in your face when you want it. You can keep your sunglasses behind the lens (interchangeable in several colors). Picked up 2 a few years back around $100 online. Hope it helps in your decision....
As far as I'm concerned, the best 1/2 helmet is cheap, fits in my saddlebag, and keeps me from getting a ticket. I live in a DOT state, and big brother says I have to wear a DOT helmet or risk getting a fine. They're all about the same as far as I'm concerned, so I get whatever is on sale at Jafrum or on ebay. 20 bucks is the price point I look for.
