Default Ny bike show at javits center

Went to the NY bike show at the Javits Center yesterday. I was on the prowl for upgrades for my 09 Road King. The first thing I was looking for was a new seat. I already have changed the handle bars to the Heritage ones and wanted to find a seat to complete my "comfort zone".
So I sat on a new Road King Classic and was shocked! Seems that Harley figured out that the handle bar/seat combo they put on the 09-10 Road Kings sucked and they made some changes. But anyhow, I sat myself on an Ultra and WOW. Wife and I both LOVED the seat.I'll have to double check but it seems that the Ultra seat will fit just fine on my Road King (according to the catalog - 09 thru 11 all the same). I also priced out an audio system from J&M (intercom, CB etc.) I am also considering putting a tour pack on my bike.
WHICH BRINGS ME TO THE POINT
Seems that for "only" a couple of thousand more the salesmen were willing to talk trade in for a base ultra. I'm not floating in dough but is it possible that I could have my cake and eat it too? Can't decide if I love the Road King styling enough to keep it and upgrade it or if I should take the plunge and trade up? The wife absolutely LOVED the Ultra but I still am in love with my 1st big Harley.
EITHER WAY -IT'S GOING TO COST!
WHAT DO YOU THINK?

The way I see it you will NEVER recuperate the money you invest on upgrades so i reckon it's much wiser in the long run to keep your RK std and shop around for the right Ultra.

Hope you find the right bike in due course.

Upgrades are meant to keep YOU HAPPY , but not the next buyer. So spend your money and buy up? Which dealer was going to take your bike in and a couple of Grand for an Ultr ?? I have to meet him , LOL!! My Ultra was $25436 OTD in NY and every RK is about $19K. Heck I had a guy who wanted to trade me his RK but I wanted $9K , he is thinking about it ? Good Luck with your Ultra

Default More than a couple

It would end up being 2-3 grand more PLUS the cost of the upgrades I had planned. I COULD ONLY WISH!

I've thought about trading my Road King in on an Ultra but changed my mind. I love my King too much to get ride of her. I did that with my Sportster and I'm still kicking myself over that move.
