As for the mufflers,depending on what they are,you may have to loosen the rear bracket on the muffler and gently pry down on the end of the muffler to get the axle out.

I just got one of those things. The fan in it is noisy as hell, but it heats up the garage damn fast. I just crank up the stereo.
