Default HELP! Hard saddle bag rubber donuts

Changing my bags out from the leaher to hard bags. Just about done, but need a tip for getting the rubber donuts installed on the lower bag where they attach to the bike. Any help would be great.

They should pop/snap up into the bag. A little lube might help if you are having trouble getting them into the hole

another lubricant would be lighter fluid or even gasoline.

it'll lube on the way in, then evaporate away

also good for handlebar grips

Wrap a piece of string around them. Push the ends of the string through the hole along with as much of the grommet as you can. Then unwrap the string to pull the rest of the grommet through the hole.

be sure to keep the rubber grommets warm, if they're cold they'll be too stiff to allow them to slide in easily. a little bit of liquid soap will work great.

"Handcleaner" (without pumice) works great and is water soluble so it washes away with water once rubber seal is in place. Won't dry-out the rubber either.
