I've thought about the same thing. Don't really see the point in changing the rear since it's mostly hidden. Maybe if you plan on showing the bike.

If someone lays on the ground to look up and tell you your wheels are mismatched, step on their head while they are down there.

Its your bike and your money, do what you like. I'd have a hard time coughing up $1500 for a rear wheel nobody sees except me when I'm cleaning it.

You guys must have some really low bikes.

As you can see in my sig pic you can see enough of the rear wheel to tell if it matches or not. And my bike is lowered, with 16" rear wheel.

Granted you can't see much of it but I could tell the difference.

It's just personal preference I guess. I prefer mine to match.

"TACKY?!" Not at all. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND SPEND IT ON SOMETHING YOU CAN SEE - OR SOMETHING YOU CAN'T SEE IF YOU INSIST. Your call I guess.

BTW / I put a 21 inch chrome wheel on the front of my 09 street glide and left the rear stock - it don't look too shabby, and I ain't tacky. ; ))

Whatever floats your boat. I think the wheels only need to be both chrome or both black, thats as much matching as I need.

I am wanting to put a 21" front chrome wheel, may get chrome factory rear wheel as suggested, 4" extended bags. Anyone think that the 21" wheel is worth the $ ? I have heard that it drastically changes the ride. I like the look, but want a great ride also. Any suggestions?

I put an 18" SG front on mine and left the stock flht 16" in the rear....when I change the rear, I'll only do it for the wider tire under there.

Even the guy on here telling us to check our eyes is blind....look at his pic. You can only see his tire.

I run a 21" in the front and 17" in the back, they are low profile Metzler's, I lowered the front to maintain the geometry, the back has a 200 mm tire.

the ride is a little different over stock, would not say worse just different, after a couple hundred miles you will not notice it.

Good luck with your decision.
