Compensator replacement 2010's
Went to my dealer today and discussed the bang that I occasionally hear on start up on my newly acquired (new to me anyway) 2010 Limited. No problem they said they have done these on a few 2010's with this issue. They explained that they could install the S.E. for the price difference from stock. Now I thought that the 2011's had the S.E. in them? When I inquired about this they explained that the 2011's were not a retro fit and a different compensator than the S.E.
Was just wondering if anyone can verify this?

I had the same thing with my 2010. The big bang when started. They(the dealer) replaced with another OEM comp. and it did the same thing along with the sound of rocks in the primary. I ask about the SE comp. and was told, they came stock in the 2011's. I told them I want one in mine. I paid the difference and it solved all my problems. I'm a happy camper now.
I've read where some have even had theres replace at no charge at all. Sence mine was the second one, I was glad to pay the difference and be done with it. It cost me 200 bux. Worth the piece of mind.

My local dealer finally replaced the OEM compensator in my '0-10, but said they could not install the 'Screamin' Eagle Compensator' under warranty. Instead, they ordered all the parts of the SE and installed that. Sounded weird to me that Harley wouldn't just let them install the compensator as a complete unit, but it did solve the noise issues and the dealer didn't charge me anything for it.

It's worth the upgrade, even if the dealer has you pony up for some of the cost. I was willing to pay the full price for the upgrade but my dealer got H-D to pick up the cost.
