Default Strange Feeling on SG

Did some touring in the mountains of Massachusetts this past weekend on my 06 SG and felt something strange. While cruising up a long uphill mountain road at about 80 mph I hit the gas. I'm not sure what rpm's it was but nothing happened. There was plenty of throttle left but no response. It was almost like I had a govenor on it. The bike runs good otherwise but shouldn't I have something left going uphill at 80 mph?

maybe it depends on the altitude changes you went thru. had a similar situation with a fuelie car. ran like crap climbing in colorado. stopped at a rest stop. shut it off for about 10 minutes. when i started it up again it was fine. some only calculate at startup not enroute. a drastic change will only be input on restart.

What gear?
My question too. In 5th, at 80 m.p.h., going uphill, might seem like nothing is happening. These aren't Hyabusas...

if you were heavily loaded in 5th at 80 theres hardly anything left uphill at that speed. maybe a little if it is injected. but if stock you got all you had.

I was in 5th gear. I think if I was in 4th it would be red lining (or close). I just thought there might be something more.

I bet you won't be anywhere close to redline in 4th gear at 80 mph. Try it sometime, you can run to 6000 rpm in 4th
