ORIGINAL: Hardly Dangerous...The bike runs good otherwise but shouldn't I have something left going uphill at 80 mph?
Probably need a bit more info: Stock bike? How many miles on it? I'd also imagine that your expectation of an 88" V-Twin is higher than say a 600cc....But that isn't the way it is. When my EVO was stock it could barely pull itself up a good sized hill, let alone a mountain. New SE air cleaner, SuperTrapp pipes, EV27 cam, a bit of carb work, and now a mild head port....It will accelerate from 80 going uphill, two up, in the wind....However...Not like the wife's C5 Corvette will.

HMMMmmmmmm.....just curious here......but, um, if you were going 80......up-hill.....on a mountain road........uh....why would you be wanting to "hit the gas"?????? HMMMMM?????

Inquiring minds want to know!!!!!

I was cruising with some buddies and they were pulling away from me. Just trying to catch up. Not runnin from anything!

[sm=gears.gif]

The grade was pretty steep but just wanted some feedback on what I should've expected. Motor is stock. Stage I. Now I know I have to build up some steam to keep up with them!

Uhm, yes you will have that problem. My fuel injected EVO just would not go any faster uphill than 80 in the mountains too. Now downhill was a different situation all together, but it did seem like it hit a wall. What was I doing, chasing a race prepped GXR’er up a few hills in Washington State. We where just having fun as I was proving that my bagger could keep up with him and it was all mostly rider skill and not the bikes ability to handle. Although handling ability REALLY helps in the twisites.[:-][:-][:-]
