I'm not a tech but I understand what fabrik8or posted regarding the low power draw of normal LED's tricking the TSSM and, hence, the need for a load equalizer.

I also understand that some LED products (e.g. HD LED's for tour paks, turn signals, etc.) come with a built in resistor(s) so the TSSM sees a higher power draw, and thus avoid the need for a load equalizer.

Personally, I'm quite happy to not have a load equalizer on the bike while using serveral LED lighting products (BAL tail light, custom tri-bar LED light with resistors installed, etc.)

Good luck with your research.

I've used the Badlands Illuminator on every bike I've had in the last several years and have never had a problem with any of them. Currently have one on my '07 Ultra running LED's in the saddlebags as my only rear lights when the tour pak is removed...works perfectly.

I just ordered the 02d2 resistor with their integrated tail light turn signal. will I have an issue? This is for my Dyna. Will this be able to be used with teh run turn brake module?

My opinion, the all-in-one equalizers from any of the previously mentioned companies is the best way to go. Plug-n-play, fire-n-forget, however you want to say it, one module and you can run LEDs in every socket if you want to. Also no heat, as with the inline resistors.

The best product, hands down is the Badlands Illuminator. It's a run/turn/brake controller that doesn't overheat no matter how many L.E.D.'s you run. It has a built in load equalizer and is alarm compatable and it's plug & play.

Hey train, you had any problems with your turn signals blinking too fast with the triple play?

Nope. After install, the instructions said to activate the right blinker for 3 blinks, then the left for three, then the right. That sets the TSSM up to work with the load equalizer. No issues at all.

If you're having a problem, call CD. Their customer service department is awesome.

Yeah I finally read that part and did it. Haven't been able to make it screw up since but I'm still suspicious. Been too cold to get to really check it out. I called their tech but he was a new guy and didn't know what to try.

That step had me scratching my head too, but I've ridden thousands of miles since then, and I've had no issues whatsoever.
