choosing the right gloves

Gerbings for very cold
Gerbing or HD for heated gloves.
HD are made by Gerbing and carry the same lifetime warranty.
For non-heated gloves, I use a brand called Olympia.

I think the key to fitting gloves for warmth is not buying them too tight.

Then the Olympias as mid-weights for those 40F'+ days.

I use Jersey gloves (3 pairs for $2 at dollar general) as liners for my leather gloves. They work fine down to around 40. I also have a pair of thinsulate leather gloves that I picked up at a swap meet for $20, a little bulkier than the others but my hands were warm for the 40 mile ride to work on a 25 degree morning.

Heated gloves are likely going to be the only way to keep your fingers from getting cold.
I tried a pair of ski/snowboarding gloves that have a little pouch where you can insert a hand-warmer packet. Those were OK, except that the gloves were too bulky for me.
So, I just use my leather gloves with a set of silk liners.

I've got the gerbing t-5 and plan to go back and get the jacket liner. The local BMW dealer that sells the stuff has them at 20% off. I'm right between the small and the medium and what I found with the small is it constricts the articulation of my hand with the levers too much so I went with the mediums. When I measured for the gloves, I found my left hand is almost a half inch smaller than the right. Wonder if they'd sell a small left and medium right. While it's obviously warmer if I press my fingers against the top of the glove, they don't get cold. There isn't enough room in there to loose that much heat for me. I am amazed at how warm your hand stays and you barely turn the controller up.
