Planning that first road trip...
Buddy and I are heading to Las Vegas the second week of May for a pool tournament. LV is about 3 x 7 hour days riding from here, and were checking a place called the Hogs and Heifers biker joint for some evening R&R.
Any good suggestions on places to imbibe and visit while we're there? Please don't say "The Harley dealership"...
Thanks

if either of you has a HOG membership, it comes with basic roadside asst.
Call in and do the $20 upgrade which gives unlimited towing to nearest dealer.
well worth it.
when you sign up, you can enroll 2 bikes by VIN, so one membership can take care of both of you
Vegas- the options are endless.

If the DD is a little to low brow, check out Freakin Frogs. Beers and Whiskey from around the world.
And finally for a trip back to the '70s in all it's fern bar glory, check out The Peppermill's Fire Side Lounge. You can drink all night then grab breakfast at a diner without leaving the building.

Since you said it was your first road trip I thought I would share regarding your intentions of driving only 7 hours a day. My brother and I went to Colorado last year - our first long road trip - a 1000 miles - I inquired on the forum here how many miles to expect in a days ride and got all kinds of answers - so, we planned on 500 miles a day. Turns out we left at 6 AM and stopped at 8 PM AND ONLY because the sun went down - and we traveled 850 miles that first day. So, don't be surprised if when you meet your first days destination at 3 in the afternoon you decide the days ride is not over (unless of course you have people and places to see).
