Default Planning that first road trip...

Buddy and I are heading to Las Vegas the second week of May for a pool tournament. LV is about 3 x 7 hour days riding from here, and were checking a place called the Hogs and Heifers biker joint for some evening R&R.

Any good suggestions on places to imbibe and visit while we're there? Please don't say "The Harley dealership"...

Thanks

A Honda dealership?

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Plus it helps my post count.

if either of you has a HOG membership, it comes with basic roadside asst.

Call in and do the $20 upgrade which gives unlimited towing to nearest dealer.

well worth it.

when you sign up, you can enroll 2 bikes by VIN, so one membership can take care of both of you

Vegas- the options are endless.

Good time of year to come to Las Vegas. Haven't been to Hogs and Heifers yet, however my friends have, and you won't be dissapointed. This town is made for gambling and imbibeing. Think adult disneyland 24 hours.

Ah, my favorite drinking city in the US. If you make no other stop, be sure and go to the Double Down Saloon! Have the daily special - *** Juice and a Schlitz. If your into adventure, you might try a bacon-tini, though I recommend that you shoot it or have the bacon infused vodka in a bloody mary.
If the DD is a little to low brow, check out Freakin Frogs. Beers and Whiskey from around the world.
And finally for a trip back to the '70s in all it's fern bar glory, check out The Peppermill's Fire Side Lounge. You can drink all night then grab breakfast at a diner without leaving the building.

Check out the Road Trips section on these forums. Good info there, and you'll get tons of tips of places to see in that area.

Since you said it was your first road trip I thought I would share regarding your intentions of driving only 7 hours a day. My brother and I went to Colorado last year - our first long road trip - a 1000 miles - I inquired on the forum here how many miles to expect in a days ride and got all kinds of answers - so, we planned on 500 miles a day. Turns out we left at 6 AM and stopped at 8 PM AND ONLY because the sun went down - and we traveled 850 miles that first day. So, don't be surprised if when you meet your first days destination at 3 in the afternoon you decide the days ride is not over (unless of course you have people and places to see).
