Replacement wheel bearing options?
I just bought a set of chromed 28-spoke wheels from www.chromethathog.com. They look great, but I need to install bearings into both wheels. Do I go with HD OEM bearings from the dealer or aftermarket bearings? Timken bearings are well-known bearings? All *****? Other?
If Timken - does anyone know the numbers for '09 FLTR wheels & a good source for them?

Phone your dealer! There is a limit to how much effort buying things like bearings is worth. They may be cheaper from a cut-price source, but postage could easily wipe that out.

A lot of people have been complaining about HD bearings. I went with bearings from the Drag Specialties catalog. They were 1/4 of what HD bearings cost. My thought on the HD reliability vs Drag Specialties bearings is that everyone uses what Drag Specialties sells so they must also be proven. Only the HD snobs would say just because they come from HD must mean they are good. There are a lot of posts on how bad HD bearings are and that they are failing quite early.
