Question ROADGEARŽ Hi-Tec Digital Tire Gauge

I have a question to those who have this tire pressure gauge.
http://www.roadgear.com/Accessories/...al_Tire_Gauge/

I have a cop bike with the same rims as a Street Glide. Checking the tire pressure is a real PITA. If you have this gauge does it make it easier to check the tire pressure? How accurate is it? I probably lose 2 to 3 pounds of air pressure every time I check my tires. It gets to the point I just don't want to check them. But, I do anyways. Real frustrated.

Thanks and ride safe,

Bob.

Not sure about that gage but what I do is connect a "Chek-a-spare" hose to the valve stem then check my pressure. A little extra time but on my 09 Utra's wheels this sure makes it easier.

Thanks Dave, I had that on the spare of my pick up truck. It was permanently attached to the spare and worked great. But, I'm looking for something that I can reach in, check the pressure, and go to the next tire.

Ride safe,

Bob.

Also look into this one: Accutire MS-4710B Motorcycle Tire Gauge

It's half the price of the Roadgear and has slightly better reviews on Amazon.

Unfortunately I can't comment on the accuracy of either gauge, but I am interested in something like this as well.

I plan to install angled valve stems on my wheels the next time I change my tires.

That's a very similar product and less expensive. I would not be surprised if they were made by the same company. Both have the same body design and lifetime batteries. The Roadgear has a few more features in it's favor. But, the Accutire has the cost in it's favor.

I read a positive review by Web Bike World on the Roadgear. http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/rg/air/air.htm But I wanted to hear "real world" results.

Thanks and ride safe,

Bob.

Check out www.getagauge.com
Bought a couple gauges from them and they work well.

I have the Accutire gauge. It worked great..... for about six months. Replaced the batteries in the gauge, thinking they were bad, nope. Maybe mine was a fluke, but I didnt have good luck with the it.

I have been considering a tyre monitoring system. We have a new car with it on and it tells you when a tyre drops pressure below a pre-set level. Doesn't say which wheel it is, but puts off checking pressures until necessary. It also helps that by warning of a tyre pressure dropping, a puncture can be identified before it becomes a real problem.

There are after-market bike systems available and it has come up here on HDF in the past. So that is an alternative way of putting off the dreaded pressure check!

I needed a new gauge. Harley sells one for $12.95 that works great. It's not digital so no battery to replace. Dealer wanted to sell me the digital one for more money. 75110-98BTire Gauge and Tread Depth Indicator with Embossed Leather Pouch
