ROADGEARŽ Hi-Tec Digital Tire Gauge
#21
First, I must say thanks for all the input. I believe I have come up with a combination that will work for me.
Here is my rational thinking and solutions. Weblinks to Amazon included for descriptions of each product.
First, I considered the Roadgear http://www.amazon.com/Roadgear-HI-TE...5609469&sr=1-1 or the Accutire http://www.amazon.com/Accutire-MS-47...5609469&sr=1-4 digital tire pressure gauges. Especially the Roadgear because of the favorable write-up on Web Bike World. But I didn't really care for the "lifetime" batteries. Their lifetime may only last a couple of years.
The Tiregard wireless TPMS really intrigued me. I didn't like the expense, but felt I would most likely check my pressure before each ride. I went to check for possible clearance issues and realized I have rubber valve stems! The Tiregard is not an option as of now. I plan on replacing the rubber stems with the metal stems when it's time for new tires. On the positive side, the rubber stems prevented me from spending $150.00 http://www.amazon.com/Show-Chrome-WI...5608541&sr=8-1
Here is the combination that may work for me and others with the is same situation.
I really like the Accu-Gage EZ tire pressure gauge http://www.amazon.com/Accu-Gage-Air-...608485&sr=8-11. Easy to read, no batteries to exchange, and you can add air to the tire while attached to the stem.
I also found this "elbow" for the tire valve. The Topeak product does not lose air when adding or removing it from the valve stem. Very similar to our rear air shocks. http://www.amazon.com/Topeak-Pressure-Rite-Anti-Air-Loss-Connector/dp/B000FIAVKG/ref=pd_sim_auto_2.
Everything is on order and should arrive next week. I will give it a try and post my impressions with this combination. Hopefully it will work and may be an option for others.
Thanks again and ride safe,
Bob.

Actually, I have the HD gauge too & it works quite well...use for all my vehicles. Once of the few HD accessories that's not in the "hundred dollar" category...
