I use one when I go on a long trip, but take it off when around here. I keep my cell phone in it, plugged in to the lighter to charge. I use to have a triple one, but didn't need the other two. It does not bother my vision. It is not the HD one, but a cheaper no name one I bought on eBay.
I also have a lock pouch on the right side of the inner fairing about where the lighter position would be. I keep little stuff in it like MP3 cards.

I have the Electra Glide Faring Pouch that fits right in the middle of the windshield. I even have the shorter 9" windshield installed, and the pouch does not affect my vision at all.
Sure comes in handy storing the sunglasses, cell phone and such.
I could not use the 3 pouch version, as I have a GPS mount on the right side of the windshield. Only the center pouch would work for me.
Very happy with it.

I have the Harley Leather Fairing Pouch. I keep it on all the time and it does not obstruct my vision at all. I keep my cigarettes, lighter, keys, tire gauge, a few dollar bills if I am going on a toll road and any other small items I may pick up. It also works great for holding my cell phone while it is charging.
One word of caution though. It does not work with the stock Street Glide wind deflector. It is too short. I have an 8" windshield on my SG and it works fine.
