Default Beverages, Ice and Saddlebags

I am getting myself pumped for spring riding. On day trips, I would like to carry 6 or so chilled beverages with me. I have a late model RKC. I looked at the HD liners (91887-98) but they are water resistant versus waterproof. I don't think I want melting water running over my bike. A trash can liner would work but might not be so easy to fill and remove

What do you folks do for transporting 6 or so chilled beverages in your saddlebags?

Best

Greg

I know there's a waterproof bag/liner just for that purpose in the J&P Cycles catalog.

Insulated softsided foam cooler and some blue ice packs that can be frozen in the freezer and then stuck in with the beverage of your choice. No leaking as it melts.

I've seen cooler bags designed to fit right into the saddlebags but I'm not sure where I have. I though Harley offered them...

Aside from these that 07FLHT mention:

Wally world has some nice soft sided coolers that will fit:

eBay listings for some HD coolers:

Harley Davidson makes a Slant Saddlebag Cooler

OR

HD Slant Saddlebag Cooler 94184-01 for hard bags.

OR

HD Square Saddle Bag Cooler 94185-01 for the others.

+1 - don't waste your time with ice cubes as the sole method of keeping things cold in your cooler. Or what I do in addition to the blue ice packs - if I want ice cubes in my bev while riding, get some heavy-duty freezer ziplock bags - shove some ice cubes in those for your drinks and then keep those ziplocked bags in with your cooler and icepacks.

I had Royalite bubble bags on one of my Panheads, they leaked pretty good out of the center seams.

i would just fill up one bag with cans on ice, since the lid comes all the way off, it always looked pretty good and was a hit at any BBQ.

Modern day bags are too good, you'd have to drill a hole in the bottom for drainage
