Default Picked up my Road Glide today.

The first of last year I started looking at and wanting a Road Glide.

Then last March 1, my wife was diagnosed with Stage IV colon cancer and I put all of life on hold to care for her. She fought an INCREDIBLE battle for 9 months and went home to heaven on December 8. We were married for 32 years and she was truly the love of my life.

She knew I'd been looking at new bikes and how it clears my mind to ride. A couple of months before she died she told me that when we were on the other side of her cancer battle, she wanted me to go buy the bike I wanted and to ride a lot. Even in her final months she was thinking about how to care for me and what I would need.

Well, I started looking again last week...it was actually pretty emotional for me. This week I got serious and OC Harley made me a great deal on a 2011 with the 103 Power Pak. I took the jump and picked it up today after having them put a chrome front end on. I also have Lower Fairings coming because I'm planning to do a coast to coast ride sometime this year. I'll be waiting until weather gets better in places besides here in SoCal.

Here's a picture just before leaving the dealership.

Wow....touching story man. I hope you enjoy that bike for many years. I have no ties to this company, but reading your story made me think that a custom engraving of some sort on your bike might be a nice touch. I hear this place does great work. A friend of mine out in Cali lost his wife unexpectedly six months ago and wants to add something to his bike honoring his wife, as he and his wife bought it together just prior to her passing.

Very sorry for your loss. Sounds like she was a remarkable woman and you were both blessed to have 32 years together.

Enjoy the new bike. The RG was an excellent choice. Enjoy the ride.
