I ride a Road King and I don't have the tourpack yet, but I hope to have one before summer. Unless I'm traveling I won't put it on the bike. I don't even put on the backrest unless my wife is going with me.
My other scooter had a permanent mount trunk and the E-Glide I got a few months ago has the quick detatch hardware. I have only used the quick detach to take my tour pac off for cleaning. It really is handy to remove it, clean everything up and put it back on. I would not know what to with out that "box on the back" plus I like those added rear tail lights to keep some telephone texter off of my a**. Just my 2 cents worth and I ride solo unless my Bride wants to tag along. Happy Trails....
2010 Ultra Limited here and I'm solo about 90% of the time. My wife has her own bike that she rides on day trips and weekends. The only time she's on the back of mine is if we're going for a week or longer.
I have buddies with tourpacks that stay on all the time, and they are nothing but junk collectors. the mores space you have, the more crap you'll haul around. I have plenty of room 90% of the time with my 2 saddlebags.
Exactly
Kinda like my garage, or the closet space in my house. The more storage space you have, the more junk gets stuck in it.
I ride most of the time by myself. I also like the look of my Ultra when it has everything on it. Seems like the "STARSHIP ENTERPRIZE" rolling through space !!LOL It is a Battleship for sure.
I ride solo most of the time. I love the trunk - can stash all the crap I tend to carry around. I liked the look of my Wide Glide because it was lean and mean, but it was a real PITA carrying stuff.
I like the way Ultra's look really, always have, even when I had my WG.
I ride with the tour pac on most of the time, comes in handy to store or pick up things. Riding with the pac off, I do like the lines of the bike better, my tour pac comes off real easy, so it depends on the mood I am in, or the places I am going. I would say 80% of the time the tour pac is on.
