I'm using this to mount my Zumo, which came with the GPS. The kit had an extension to use with the ball attached to the Zumo, but I'm using a slightly longer one that puts the Zumo closer to the rider. Whether this setup would meet everyone's standards for cosmetic excellent is another question, but it is a very ergonomic solution for me. I'll try to take a photo later today and post it.

I used to use the mount in question but switched to the single ball stud after changing my mirrors to fairing mounts. Fits the hole perfectly where the mirror used to be. Had to purchase a longer bolt at the hardware store for less than a dollar but it suits me.

So pin it down with a nut/bolt.
I think TX mount looks better...just my opinion.

My Zumo came with one. Tried it but did not like it. Prefer the grip area clear. I use a 'U' bolt with ball instead mounted on the vertical part of the bar on the left. With a short extension this keeps the Zumo in easy reach but protected behind the fairing.

alkrisma,
I use two of them, one for the Zumo and one for my DVR. They work great and I've had no issue with either. I've thought about maybe trying the mirror mount ones too, but was wondering if they vibrated too much for the DVR. RAM makes good stuff. If it's their's I wouldn't hesitate to use it.
