Default Gas Mileage after (Stage 1/2) upgrade?

I'm picking up my RGC 103 on Feb. 5th and have "of course" already decided on a particular Stage 1 upgrade; V&H Dresser Duals, V&H Monster Rounds, Dynojet PCV, and Screamin Eagle Air Cleaner. Once the 2yr warranty expires, I intend to enter the Stage 2 areana by adding some Wood TW-555 cams.

My question is for those who bought a stock bagger, then did a similar Stage 1 and/or Stage 2 upgrade. Was there a noticeable drop in gas mileage? If so, about how much?

At least with the PC-V you can run 2 different maps if you choose too!

I have your EXACT set-up on a 2011 Limited and I get 38-43 depending on how fast I leave the stop lights.

A bike that is properly tuned or has a really close MAP should not have any decrease in fuel mileage. My build, 110", head work, 259E cams (soon to be T-man 662's) MPG. My wife and I left Indianapolis last summer, her on her stage II Lowrider and me on my bike, both loaded down with gear, running 80 - 90 MPH side by side, when we stopped for fuel my bike took about a tenth of a gallon less than hers did. (we both got 43 MPG on that fill up). She's about 60 LBS lighter than me and her bike is quit a bit lighter. More power doesn't mean less economy for the simple reason that a vehicle that makes more power doesn't have to work as hard to reach normal running conditions.

I've yet to even get close to 40. More like mid-30s on mine. New bike with approx 4,000 miles.

What's your set up? Including tuner.

If you're consistently running the speeds your signature picture shows, you're lucky to be getting in the mid 30's!

To the OP, I've read posts on this subject many times through the years and they run the gambit from "mileage dropped way down but bike runs like s scalded ape so I don't care" to "mileage actually went up after the Stage ?? upgrade." I've got FuelMoto's Stage 1 on my Ultra right now. That's SEAC, Jackpot's w/silent baffle, and PCV programmed with FuelMoto's standard setups for my bike. I got a noticeable improvement in performance, nothing earth shattering by any stretch, but just enough that I can feel it in the seat of the pants so I'm happy. It didn't effect my fuel economy one way or the other as far as I've been able to tell. I don't hot rod the bike but I don't particularly baby it either. I just ride.

I don't think I'd worry about mileage changes to much with a Stage 1 or 2 mod. "You" are still going to be the biggest factor in what kind of fuel economy you'll get!

Ride Safe,
Steve R.

Screaming Eagle Stg1 A/C w/K&N element, Jackpot 2-1-2 Header w/stock mufflers, PCV w/AutoTune.

A/F ratios 13.8 in cruise range. May still go a little richer as summer gets here because it still pings a little when hot. I don't have any ping issues now with the temps in the 50s - 60s. Also going to play with the timing when it gets warmer.
