Default Firstgear one piece thermo initial ride

Just got back from the initial test ride with the First gear suit. 35 degrees afterdark and I am amazed at how well this suit worked. Very comfortable and warm. I think that i could ride comfortably down to the upper 20s with this suit. If it is to cold to ride with this suit; I dont need to be riding.
Well worth the money.
If you want to extend your riding season this is a great investment.

Had one and they do work well, but try Gerbings...wow heated gear. Is even better.

Also just some FYI the FG thermo is also water proof...nice suit and not very expensive...good investment.

I have the same suit. It works great. I've been through mountain passes in 20' with nothing but jeans and a sweatshirt underneath and I was still warm. Except the hands! Gotta get some heated gloves.

The heated gear is good, I had a set, I like the simplicity of the firstgear suit. I didnt like the wires of the heated stuff, every time I stopped I would forget the wires and try to get off without unplugging

Do the First Gear suits fit true to size or are they larger? Thanks!

The suit is a little bulky, nothing major and certainly not the michelin man look. I have the extra large and I have a little room to spare, which I like , I cant stand binding clothes.
Zippers and overall quality are excellent. material is slick nylon. I found the suit to be very comfortable to ride in. The exterior pockets are easy to access. Zippers are large and easy to use. Suit is easy to get into and out of with my chippewa boots on.
I rode in 35 degrees with a long sleeve T shirt and jeans underneath and was very comfortable and warm. This is one of the reasons I think I will like the suit so much, normal clothing underneath, take the suit off when you arrive at your destination and not be roasting due to layers of clothes.
I believe this suit will allow me to ride anytime I want in Alabama winters, with the exception of nights like tonight when we are getting the rare Ice storm.
I am 6' and 218 lbs
If you have any further questions I will be glad to answer them if I can.

Thanks!
Exactly what I was looking for--
My cold weather gear consists of thermals and Carhartt's. They work great, but I'm looking for some waterproof protection to go along with the warmth.
Would you compare the fit of these to insulated Carhartt's ?
Second, how's the neck? -- nothing like being choked to death or feel like you can't turn your head because of the neck wear you have on...

Thx
