Default Installed the Frank Drago Bike Works 2 to 1 pipes

I just installed the 2to1 pipes from Frank Drago on my 09 Ultra Glide. I wanted a good balance between performance and a deep rumble sound and Frank suggested going with the 2.28 baffle. The sound is incredible , looks great - don't miss the dual exhaust look, and I get the benefit of the 2mil ceramic coating to reduce heat (and in Texas summers, I will take all the heat reduction help I can get). Overall, an easy 3 hour change out (if you don't have to run to the store for your header gaskets or the silver anti-seize goop). just for fun I pulled out my sound Decibel meter. I forgot to take before readings of my stock pipes , but here are the readings with the new pipes:

At idle, the pipes produce 95 Decibels – equivalent to a subway train at 200 feet (a Train whistle at 500 feet is only 90dB).
At 3000 rpm, 107dB – equivalent to a power mower at 3 feet distance.
At 4000 rpm produces 111dB or equivalent sound level to a Power saw at 3 feet or close to a loud rock concert.

I chose the dimple slant tip - gives an awesome finished look to the pipe.

Before I decided on these pipes I had a lot of questions and Frank was an excellent source of knowledge. very honest and will give you all the scoop on the pros and cons of true duals and 2-1 and the differences between his pipes and competitors. then he let me go off to do my own comparison only to find out he was spot on.

Just wanted to pass on my experience in case it can help others to make the decision on swapping out your pipes.

Wow it's looks better than I had thought. Nice. Are you going to do air & fuel mods too?
