Stock Fork Spring Rates
Anyone Know the spring rates for '09 and pre-'09 touring bikes. All I can find is the '09s are 33% stiffer than previous years, that doesn't really help since I dont know the rate of the pre-'09s. Also a recommendation for linear wound springs to run with intiminators, all I know is they use lighter springs than conventional wisdom, just not sure how much lighter.

I know it this doesn't specifically answer your questions but thought you might be interested in it.

Yes, I know I'm reading something in your post that you didn't actually say. But hey, I said I'd give it a bump and here it is.

I tried Sonic, RaceTech and Progressive. No info about OEM springs from any of them. I had high hopes for getting an answer from Progressive, 'cause well, they sell progressively wound springs and the OEMs are progressively wound. I'm really surprised that this little tidbit of information isn't fairly common knowledge among the more experienced folks, or at least the aftermarket spring mfrs. I emailed Showa as well, but haven't heard back from them either. Oh well, on to building a spring rate measuring apparatus, I’ll let you know eventually.
