Rode many mini bikes when I was younger. I never owned a motorcycle until I was 29, due to either money issues, job constraints, etc... Before I got married, my future father in law rode motorcycles. He took me on a few local rides and then, yes two guys on a motorcycle, took me on a ride from FL up to Rockingham NC to watch the AHDRA races. I was hooked. A few years later, I savedd enough $$ to put down a deposit on a new 1200 XLC and had it delivered. I took the basic saftey 3 day course, got my license and history from there. I ran that Sporty for 7 yrs before buying my 09 RG back in 08.
Have fun and ride safe.

Used to ride on the street to get there on a mini bike ignoring the cops when they were behind me. Self taught and just practice,practice,practice........ Then drugs, alcohol a head on in 75 with and car me on the bike and the story goes on.....now 20 years clean and sober, some what sucessfull which means I'm surviving and riding........YUP

Started on a "Penncraft" (JC Penney) minibike, graduated to small dirt bikes, then a 250 Elsinore when I was in high school. Bought an old (AMF) Sportster off a Marine getting shipped overseas when I was stationed at El Toro. Rode that for a few years, then got married, had kids and quit riding for 25 years. Started riding again in 2007, took the MSF course and got my first motorcycle endorsement.

Started on a Rupp mini bike at 9 yrs old, then a 175 yamaha enduro through HS. Raced Moto X and Cross Country in my 20's-30's then nothing for years. Actually said I would never own a street bike. The wife wouldn't let me buy another dirt bike.LOL. So I broke down and bought my Ultra Limited back in June, and have been loving every minute with this bike. I guess I just couldn't get motorcycles out of my system. I went through the MSF courses and bought the Ride like a Pro DVD to learn how to handle a 900lb bike. Ride like a pro technics are great and helped tremendously, I highly recommend it.

The good old days. Started on a Vespa in 1960. Self taught. Had a Honda 175 in the service and then no bikes for 25 years. Took motorcycle safety course to get my motorcycle endorsement and then went from 250 to 450 to 800 to 07 Harley 96 cu in. On my second Harley now Street glide and I love it. Sad now I missed those 25 years. Thanks for the memories.

May sound crazy, but I used to ride my bicycle to school for years. Really got the balance and 2 wheel thing down. Trading up to something with a motor wasn't that hard. My dads HD was my first motorized ride a 98 RKClassic, and that was about 2 yrs ago. He would let me ride it around the block every once in a while. Then i got my own and was cruising around town for about a month before I took the Motorcycle Safety Course. So self taught all the way.
