This for me. I was a new rider 2 years ago. The amount of free advice I got from him was amazaing, and he didn't make a dime off that stuff. He has over 30 years experience. Bottom line is, I trust him.

I do most of my own work, but I'm funny, and once a year (twice so far) i like another (way more experienced) set of eyes on my bike for stuff I might miss.

My guy has some fixed price services based on model and year. But, for example, he has discounted that for something like my K&N filter. We all know that's its right not to charge for a part he did not replace, but its a fixed price service, so he didn't have to.

I bought all of my Custom Dynamics parts through him, to give him the business. $500. He gave me a discount, lined up with internet prices.

He's the real deal, and has earned my business and respect.

Kudo's to Speed Pros of Piedmont SD!!!
I would rather take my glide to Lyle as what he can get done in an hour would take me probably 4 if not longer.
You can sit there and watch and learn and or you can help and sometimes get a discount.
Could I do most of it, yes I have and can, but it is easier and I would rather support an independent than someone who will not allow me there to observe, learn and ask questions if I want.

I recently bought an '06 Ultra w low miles at the Stealership. Allegedly had been through service and ready to ride. Yea right. 12 lbs in the front tire, 20 in the rear, no air in the shocks. I wiped the dust off my tools and did my own service, now I know it has been done. I have an Indy on tap for the projects I chose not to do

I use a local independent shop for all my work unless this shop is unable to perform work only a HD dealer can do, for example; Dealer Digital Technician Software Update.

I use an indy. They are closer to me, better rates and a family run, honest business.

i have an indie down here in SE wisconsin... did and incredible job of adding a new fender and other things that where screwed up from someone trying to make a bobber out of it.... he also knows his way around a harley engine.... very satisfied he just did my fork seals and it was over $60 cheaper than the dealer plus any other things they would have decided to change.
