We were out on a ride yesterday, there were 2 other UC, but neither had headsets. I had comms with a Honda ST1300, but we all know the range of our CBs. It would have been nice for the other guys to be able to listen, or one of them be tail gunner, then I could have relayed back to them via one way comms on what was going on. Long story short, we had some new folks riding with us (we go out on mentor rides) so the group was spread pretty far. So, back to the original question, can the BB be heard through the bike speakers or only the head set?

Flip the speaker switch on the dash... i do it all the time

 

My speaker switch is a 3 way switch. What position do I put the switch to get the CB to come in over the external speakers?

I'd have to go look, but I know it turns on a little speaker in the display of the radio. I think its down...

 

Yep, forward (headphone image on stereo display) is headphones for everything, center is headphones for cb/intercom with speakers for stereo and down (light on and speaker image on stereo) is everything out the speakers

 

Sweet, I think you are right, that never occurred to me. I am pretty sure it is down. I know when I am riding with my wife, I push the switch up when in town, so I can keep the music turned down/off in my head set and there is a headphone on the radio screen.

It's switch down, and a light appears in the switch cap.
