This is how I do mine when working on a new front end. In this instance blocking the rear wheel helps stabilize the bike on the stand. If you can or need to, blocking both wheels really helps, depends on what work you are attempting.

Awesome idea. I'm gonna make one. You should have it powder coated.

simple
Red Sears jack here and love it.... Works fine and does the job. I think it's pretty damn sturdy. It's mostly all about common sense, either you have it or you don't..

Yeah...then you can crawl around on the front fender...and take pictures of yourself! Sweet!

Whatever jack...like someone earlier said...push the pedal, bike goes up, lock the rig, bike stays up. (just havin fun here of course)

I guess truth for me is if I really needed to do get it up (so to speak) and do a lot of work, I'd get a table lift...really.

I have the Sears red jack and haven't had any issue with it at all. If I need to take the tires off or service the bike, I use a bike stand. Very stable unit.

Thanks DamnifIknow/MrCujo.
for a first time effort, I'm not too dissapointed in the final result. I will probably use these (built one for my wifes RKC as well) until spring, sell them and build a new set, as I am sure I will want to make some adjustments to the design. Will probably hold off on powdercoating until I build the final version.

I thought about making a stand like that after seeing this one made by Peps X It would work well with the yellow Sears Jack.

Ridin',
Your idea looks great. Went to your garage and looked at your pics. You mentioned having bolted it to the floor. It looks heavy enough, do you think it would have to be bolted? Nice job, I'll be working on my version soon.
