It fixes the decel popping, too.

This is from the instructions for the PCV 15-011, which is listed for 2010-2011 touring models (the one I would need to buy):
  • Locate the stock O2 sensor connections and unplug both connectors (Fig. D)
  • The stock O2 sensors will NOT be connected to anything at this time. The sensors can be removed from the exhaust if you have a way to plug the hole.
Unplugging the sensors does NOT cause an engine light but will cause a historic code in the ECM for non-active O2 sensor.

It then goes on to say that this doesn't affect the bike's operation which I understand. I think, as long as I don't get an engine light, I would be OK inspection-wise in both Vermont and Texas. I know here in Vermont, at least on cars, they don't look further than the check engine light being off. If anyone knows if its the same in Texas for emissions-check counties please chime in, or if I'm mis-reading the instructions.

Just got off the phone with FuelMoto and ordered the PC-V mapped for my configuration. They had the exact map for my bike, mufflers, and a/f. Great folks to talk to, take their time explaining everything and answering all my questions. Good price on the unit too.

Thanks again to everyone for their input!

Okay, thanks for the clarification. I should've worded my message differently. My intent was to say that it doesn't throw a code that would cause the engine light to activate, and unplugging the O2 sensors in this manner is the correct procedure. LA doesn't fool with MC trouble codes or even check the engine light, but I can't say how other states diagnose these things during inspections. You can clear the codes, and if inspections got intrusive enough you could save your running PCV map to a file, zero all the values in the fuel tables, re-insert the O2 sensor connectors, and clear the trouble codes before going to the inspection station. This wouldn't take long and I would assume that's all you would need to do. Anyone have any first-hand experience with this?
