Default SERT or PCIII?

Hey guys, my brother in law just bought an 06' Street Glide with true duals, ac and was told it has a Screamin Eagle Race Tuner. I have experience with the PCIII and the latest Power Commander on my '10 Street Glide but none with the SERT. 2 questions, can the PC be installed with the SERT already downloaded in it? Or should he just stick with what he has? Thanks ahead of time for any insight!

If he installed a PC the ecm would have to be reset to stock or stage 1 in order to find a map for his setup. Or, he could have it tuned on a dyno.
Seems to me he should stay with the SERT.

If it has a SERT then the guy he bought it from should have given your BIL the interface and cd with the bike. Because once used on that bike the interface is locked to that ECM so it is useless on any other bike. Your BIL needs to ask for that unit. Adding a PC III on top of the SERT would require dyno tuning because the ECM would not match any of the standard starting points utilized by the PC programs. If it already has the SERT and the pipes and such, why do you need to retune it now anyway?

I would stick with what he has now, as I see no point in changing tuners when he already has a good one. If he didn't have SERT installed there would be reason to ponder which tuner to purchase, but IMO not now. NVSteve is right about reverting to stock or Stage 1 to go with a PCIII or PCV and a canned map. Otherwise he'd need a dyno-tune, and he can do that now with SERT installed.
