Thanks everyone. Is there a "seat compatibility" chart that shows which seats are compatible with which bikes? In other words, something that would show if a SG seat would fit on an RK? Or even a 2011 RK seat on a 2008?

I did notice at the dealer that the 2011 Road King seat seemed slightly lower than mine, but not enough to give that "in with the bike" feeling.

I had the same issue when I switched from sport bikes to my RKC. I am a bit on the short side, so not only did I need to get lower, and more "into" the bike, but I needed to be moved forward. I changed my seat to a Danny Grey Speed Cradle solo. I like this seat as it is much firmer than the stocker, and is closer to the feel of my old sport bike seat. I still don't feel locked in, but I can live with that. It takes a little getting used to the "open" feeling when riding this bike. But as I am older (if not much wiser) I think I will get used to the open feel just fine.

My 07 gives the feel of on the bike while at a stop but on the road I feel as though Im part of the bike. The stock seat was horrible (anyone wanna buy one). I had an ultra seat and was'nt happy with it either. I had Mean City mod the ultra seat and still was'nt happy (not a complaint on MCC it just did'nt suit me). I now have a Mustang Solo and am pretty happy with it. You still sit high at a stop (Feels like a well padded sawhorse to me) but once I pick my legs up its all good.

Good question! I've been thinking of trying a 2011 RG/SG seat as it was mentioned earlier that it will give you more of the "in" the bike feel....I may try it as the seat is pretty short money

I went with the Danny Gray Big Seat W/ Rider Backrest and XL passenger pillion, gel in both. It drops you two inches into the bike and back one inch. Instead of sitting on my king I now sit in it. I love it. Here's a link.
