I know this is a topic that gets beat to death. But after much searching I couldn't find a definite answer to my question. I am putting 18" apes on my 09 Road King, I have it all torn apart and I am waiting on the bars to show up. I am wondering if anyone can tell me how long the pieces were that they soldered on to extend their wires. I just want to have that part done before the bars show up to speed up the process a bit. Any help would be great thanks.

 

I put 16" on my EGC earlier this year and used 12" extention that HCC sent with the bars. I had a lot of extra wire. You can alway coil it up if its too long.

 

6" less than the height of the new bars is one rule of thumb but four inches less is probably safer and like said you can always coil it up in the headlight nacelle.

 

Thanks guys, I put about 15-16 inches on them so I should be in good shape. Now if Fed-ex will get the rest of the goods here we'll be in business!
