you're right - the battery tray is a trick and think of it just like a pzzle piece - it is bent on the same angle as the frame (lower left corner from right side of bike) and it comes straight out there. Kinda like seems like the engineers were handed a battery tray and told to build a bike around it.

Hey Roady...........After going over the way you did the install, I got to thank ya ! [sm=exactly.gif] After the long awaited package arrived I went back thru my memory banks and did my install exactly as you did and gotta say it was fast and easy ........thanks to your pictures. The battery tray was a real brain teaser[sm=headbang.gif] and the torks bolt in the fender was a knuclke buster[sm=smiley35.gif] but thanks to you and some of the other post it was much easier. Anyway I'm draggin my bags now [sm=biker.gif]
