Havent got down to 30 but a couple ofyears ago was out on the WG for 8 hours in upper 30's-low 40's. Long johns, leather and a sweatshirt and I was fine. Use heavy H-D gloves and my hands were fine.

I have the Gerbing pant and jacket liners along with their G3 gloves and dual controller. I rode from Houston to Texarkana Arkansas last year between Christmas and new years. The temp when i left Houston was 23 degrese and the wind was blowing about 15 mph. I rode there and back to Houston in the same day and never once got cold and that was a 600 mile trip by the time i got back. They have more than paid for them selves because it lets me ride year around and stay warm too. It's alot of money to spend but well worth it if you want to stay warm riding in the winter time.

Heated Socks or insoles and gloves....Other than that i do pretty good with REI fleece long johns, jeans and chaps....i carry a piece of fleece microfifer in the saddle bag if it gets to about 15 degrees. I have a goose down parka that i have worn in minus 55 degree weather. Full face and Schampa Fleece Balaclava. When i get some extra coins it will be the Union ridge Gerbing pants and jacket.

Thanks for the replys, always good to bounce ideas off you guys, never know what you may learn. I thought it may be the heated products, looks as though I have to come off with the $ and get some.

Yeah...liners work...like these http://www.underarmour.com/shop/us/e...ve/1006610-002. Such a completely subjective question...whatever you want/need...really.

Of course the $168 Gerbings are excellent...just depends on how warm you need to be. $29 vs $168...your call man.
