Default mmmmm, this foot tastes great.... too many threads to apologize in...

So I have an '09 Canadian RG. All the info I have heard or read says I have a cat in my headpipe. My manual says I have a cat in my headpipe. My dealer says I have a cat in my headpipe. Just ordered a Fuelmoto headpipe in fact.

Recently a few threads have come up that had me wondering so I just took off my right muffler and had a look...... no cat, ran a rod down the collector to where the pipe bends up to the head just to be sure, no cat. Shook the flashlight and looked again, no cat.....

To all those I said that my cat equiped bike runs as cool as my '02 did, I am sorry. To all those I said my cat equiped bike has great stage 1 numbers and the cat isn't as important as a good tune, I'm sorry. To all those I said all Canadian touring bikes since '09 have a cat, I'm sorry.

Now i have to cancel my headpipe from Fuelmoto, sorry to you guys too....

some daves are better than others.....

In 09 only the SE touring bikes have a cat. I used an 09 head pipe on my 2011.

And all the bikes sold in the 5 or so states with California emissions.

So where is a good place to get a set of 09 catless headers?

Dave, you are obviously a big man cuz it takes a big man to do that.

For what it's worth, H-D probably has a very difficult time trying to estimate the number of bikes it will sell in a year. Back in the glory days for H-D when you had to order a bike for months in advance (and you still might not get one.) it was easy for them to determine how many pipes they needed to purchase/manufacture for a given year - every pipe made it onto a bike. With the U.S. economy in the crapper and bikes left on the show room floor each year I suspect H-D has some left over parts at the end of a model run. They don't have a separate factory where they make Canadian bikes so it wouldn't surprise me if some of the left over '09 cat pipes destined for the U.S. market made it into bikes destined for the Canadian market. H-D can't afford to let the extras just sit on a shelf.

That's why I generally try to post my responses saying "I think..." - I have been wrong MANY times even though I was 100% certain.

Happy Holidays.

Well, if you're like me (and I know I am), you know we've all made mistakes and posted incorrect info at one time or another.

No worries, Dave, and on the forum you can either admit it or just blame someone else for your mistake.

The 2009 header won't work in your 2010 because the O2 sensors are different.

They will work if you use a PC5 power cpmmander. I did
Most bike shops get them from time to time when customers get "tru duals" ect.
