Electra Glide Standard---Street Glide
I am looking at a used FLHT , and I would like to "Street Glide it" . Wondering if anyone around here has done that . Chop the front fender (Perhaps replace it with a Fat Boy Fender) , black out the motor covers , and rocker boxes , and add a lower wind shield . What do yins (Yeah I'm from PA) think ?

jaysonL, I have a 2005 standard. I wanted the standard for the silver motor finish rather than the black. It was bone stock when I picked it up. 1st I pulled off all the aluminuim motor parts and sent them out for chrome. I lowered the front and rear 1". I added a stage one with Rinehart true duals. Also when I installed all the chrome motor parts I replaced all the fasteners with chrome ones. Next I pulled the fork lowerers and removed one caliber mount and had the lowers chromed. I replaced the stock wheel with a Xtrem machine 5 spoke 21". I used Klockwerks flush mount axle and there full wrapper fender. Also I have the matching rotor from Xtrem machine. I added the OEM radio that I got on Ebay. I also put in the oil temp and oil pressure gauge to fill the voids in the fairing. I had the inner fairing painted. Also I repainted the tank. I love the font style on the roadglide so I had my painter copy that style and just went with silver lettering to match the motor. I took the rear bumber off and added the chrome rear fender extension. Chromed the hand controls and the slider cans on the forks also. I did all the work myself accept the paint. It has been a fun project and I like how it looks (so far). I will take some pics today and see if I can post them for ya.

I did some of what you are talking about on my old FLHT. Didn't black out the engine. It looked close enough/good enough for what I was going for without adding that expense. I left the fender tip light, but just added smoked lens to that and turn signals, brakes, etc. The FLHT sits 1" higher than the Street Glide. I liked that versus lowering the bike.
It can be done pretty easily and cheaply if you wait for the good deals on what you are wanting to swap out.
Dang...wish I had kept that bike. Lol
