Anyone using an AGM type battery? I like the idea of not having to worry about battery acid getting on painted surfaces like it has on some of my other bikes.

I've mentioned the Scorpion batterie on a few other threads. Slightly higher cca than OE, and looks identical to OE other than the HD logo. Been pleased so far

I bought the Deka and it has the same specs as the HD battery. As said earlier they supply the OEM batteries for HD. I'm happy and my chrome fund is happy as well .

The name on the ETX30L is Magna Power. Is it the Deka you are refering to? Does yours that you got mail order appear to be an AGM (gel type battery)

be sure you use a sealed battery. imagine if you were to use one of the batteries that had the acid right under the removable caps. a bit of a leak, and the battery acid would eat whatever aluminum is below it. your transmission. i use harley batteries and haven't had a failure yet, but i'll replace it after four years if it's getting weak.

A guy at work put in one from Interstate and hasn't had any problems. If you have a dealer nearby they may have a better price.
