The seat changed somewhere between 2010 and 2011, someone can chime in on it.
Think I read that the 2011 seat is narrower in the front and deeper in the back for more back support.....I can't tell much difference though, had a 09 now 11

I know what your saying about the switch. I own an 05' Sporty and a '10 SG. I thought I would ride the sporty as much as the SG but turns out, I love the SG for everything. Sporty is gonna end up as either the wifes or a show bike maybe. Honestly none of the changes from 09-10 were a big enough deal to be a deciding factor for me. It all came down to price, and when I was shopping alot of guys were really "proud" of their 09 SG's with a ton of miles, so I was able to find a new 10 for the same price. Just went with that. Your gonna enjoy one no matter what year you get. Keep it upright.

I prefer the 09 vs 10 for 3 reasons.
1) Stock exhaust header doesn't need replacing for most builds.
2) I like the rear tail light of the 09, both looks and function
3) Cost, assuming you could buy a 09 cheaper

The frame is the same however the front wheel size is different, when the 10s came out I was happy I didn't wait and bought a 09. Not saying the 10s are bad just saying I would had lost 3 months of prime riding weather just to find out I wanted a 09.

Friend has a 2010 SG and when we ride together I run lead because
I can't always pick up on his brake light and came close to nailing him
with my RK. Plus he gives no warning if he decides to stop quickly,ya
the rear is a good place for him.
