Upstate of SC here, so I'm sharing your weather issues. On the plus side, it's the first Christmas I've ever seen snow! Right now New Years eve seems to be somewhat promising but New Years day, not so much.

Like "notgrownup" and several others.... I'm a member of SCRC.... we'll ride to Ashboro, and gather with members from across the state.
Haven't had much to worry here in NC.... one year it rained hard... but mostly it's been fair, and 40 degrees, or better.
of course having heated gear helps

I would like too, but I have enough problems to keep my car on the icy roads. No chance.

Middle TN here. McMinnville about half between Nashville and Chatanooga.

Up here, if I go for a ride on New Year's Day, it'll be on a frigging snowmobile. 7 degrees this morning, snow on the way this afternoon. C'mon spring!

Wife and I go out every year in New Years day unless there is snow on the ground. Forecasting a blizzard for today and tomorrow guessing it won't be gone by next weekend!

Yep, plan on doing the annual New Years Day Ride. Weather outlook looks good here in Texas.
