Default 2011 Street Glide Throttle Issues

Ride my SG everyday and on Thursday after riding and grabbing a bite to eat I cranked up my ride and had no throttle response. Bike ran fine just no throttle. I shut it down and cranked it back up and still the same. Since I was only a few miles from the local Harley shop I limped it to the dealer. Once there they said they thought they knew what it was as they had a similar issue on Tuesday. HD shop ended up replacing the connectors at the throttle body and said thats was tech service had told them to do. If it happens again they are to replace the whole assembly. Has anyone else had this issue or heard of any other issues? I have 1100 miles on the bike. Mery Christmas everybody!!

Bike was not hot as it had sit outside for over an hour at 30 degrees. I am really trying to find out how big an issue this is since my local HD said it was their second one last week. Is there anyway to find out from Harley how many bikes they had demonstrate this condition. I thought it a little odd that replacing the terminal connectors corrects the problem and wonder if there are issues electrically they are not revealing.

I had the same problem one time. The throttle response returned after switching power off and have not had this problem again.

3k on my '11 RKC, the throttle has never acted up like you described. Lots of short trips, and varied weather conditions too. 90F down to 25F.

Next time you have the issue, pull the historic codes off the bike. That is the best indicator to see if others had similar problems.

For myself, I had these codes on my 2011 EGC:
P-1511
P-2101

My symptoms were similar to yours. It ended up they cleaned three wires going into the ECM, issue occurred again and then they replaced the three connectors. They could not get it working and they ended up having to replace the main wiring harness. All of this was advised from the MOCO.

Mine did that at 400 miles, I was also luckly only 500 yards from the dealer. At full throttle it would rev to 2k. I was able to limp to the Service entrance. Mine was tripping a code the the ecm was not seeing the throttle signal. The other sign that something was up was I had another closer dealer try to configure the Alarm signal module earlier that week, (mine didnt come with the fobs) and the ECM was locked somehow. They replaced the ECM and no problems so far. Fingers Crossed!!!!

I forgot to mention I had just ridden 50 miles in 75 degree weather and they were able to reset it and it ran fine. We were just thinking to much unkonwn and they were able to get Harley to pay for the warranty repair.

Pretty spooky when a bike cuts out on you, and particularly so if on the highway, in traffic, tricky situation, etc.

The good (???) news is that Harley is not alone.

Had an 06 Yamaha FJR sport tourer do the same exiting a highway. The jerk of a cager behind me all but rammed me.

It was soon fixed under a recall.

Default Re No Throttle

This just started to happen to mine this month , once from a cold start I had no throttle so I shut it off and then not enough juice to start so I had to charge , It should not have been dead but I had the battery checked next day by dealer and all was well , It just happened again tonight after a short ride to pick daughter up from work . No response and also the check engine light on . As mentioned above or below not sure where this will post at full throttle it would rev to 1800 max . 2009 Streetglide 28000 kms
