Help with solo Mustang seat with driver's backrest
Hello -
Just bought a 2002 Road King Classic with a solo mustang seat with a drivers backrest. I was hoping to remove the backrest, but am not figuring out how this works. Can anyone help? I used an allen wrench to remove the backrest, but the mounting bracket sticks out of the seat an inch or two. I also removed the seat and it is obviously an internal design.
The backrest is designed to be removed at will. Push the bracket forward a little and lift up. The pad and shaft should slide out. No tools are required.
Bumping this old thread cuz I need help. I have the mustang solo with backrest and want to remove the backrest. Pushing forward and pulling up isnt working.
Mine pulls straight out....wonder if previous owner bolted it down so you can't steal it....if that's what he did let me see a pic of how that was done I'd like to see it.
@ TUCCI-There is a bolt inside that is welded to a bracket it looks like. Cant find a bolt to unscrew though. Could you take your backrest out and post a picture of the bracket, maybe if i see how it looks off the seat i ca figure it out.
Nevermind, figured id give it one more shot. Sure enough pull forward and up, came right out. Had to hold back of seat down though, didnt try that earlier :facepalm.
