Default Amp suggestions

Looking to upgrade my amp. I have Hogtunes 902.2 now, but I've always been somewhat of an audiophile, so I would like to get real loud and clear. The Hogtunes is nice and a definite improvement over stock, but I think that an amp with more power, maybe some speakers also, will get me where I want. Any suggestions on one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg because it's "made for a motorcycle"? I saw this one and thought it might do pretty well. It's not digital, but I've been told that power draw on the newer touring bikes is not as much of an issue now because the voltage regulators have been improved.

I've got the Arc Audio 125.2 under the fairing of my Ultra, and impressed with it. You can do a search here about it, lots of info. Firecap501 is a member here and will gladly give you tons of info on it as well, and give you a good price if you are interested. As for speakers, I'm using the Arc 6.5 in the front, and Arc 5.25 in the rear (after trying many different speaker brands, I find the Arc to give me what I want.)

if its not motorcycle freindly it probably wont fit under the fairing, alpine pdx is a good digital that has low current draw fairly small good sound but will have to go in a bag or tourpack.

OP, there's a good chance the amp you are considering won't fit inside the fairing. There's less room atop the headunit than you might think. If you buy the amp, buy it with the agreement that you can return it if it doesn't fit.

Thanks for your suggestion, and I know that you have awesome prices compared to other vendors, but it's still $350 just for an amp. I'm trying to get out at a reasonable price. What sucks is not being able to hear a J&M amp next to one that was designed for a car and seeing if it's really worth the extra $200. I know that supply and demand, along with manufacturers' costs, dictates the price, but it seems like these motorcycle specific manufacturers think they're selling gold bricks instead of amps.

The Arc 125.2 wasn't designed to be a motorcycle amp; it morphed into that market because of its power, size and quality. The J&M is essentially a 125.2 clone.

The cost of the 125.2 is probably more due its design/size.

Good luck with your search.

Carl

PS: I have the 125.2 and am very happy with it.

If you shop you can find the Arc mini for about 310-320. Spend another 100 on speakers and you have a rockin setup. Infinity of polk rock. Don't feel you have to go with MC stuff.
