I have the clear armor on the bags, fairing (top, side, frt and rear), lower forks and even put some on the front fender. Works for me. Didnt put any on the tank though but i do have the floorboard extenders

Sounds like a great idea and sort of like the product that Motorcycle Armor sells only not so pricey. I'm going to try it when it warms up. It would probably install real easy on the top of the bag lids.

LOL yea, All of 5' but she's put up with me for 23+ years so I am not planning any change. Easier and cheaper to deal with the scratches.

I never thought about window tint. May have to give it a try.

Word of warning on the tank bra. Any dirt at all - even just road dust gets under the bra and rubs a line into the clearcoat. I'll never use one again.

I like the idea of film. Lots of sports bikes use it and it holds up well. Looks 'right' on a yami, not sure how it would look on an SG.

my tank used to get minor abuse before i installed footboard extensions. now my jeans don't even touch my tank. they move your feet out 3/4" or an inch, whichever ones you use. they're easy to install, and i can't believe how much more comfortable it is to ride with my feet placed where they're supposed to be rather than riding "bowlegged"

I know that with the larger tank in the 2008 and up hugging the tank with the legs does give that rub...

I had this problem last week after wearing my chaps on a couple of rides. Not good on a white bike. Think I'll go with the floorboard extensions that are being recommended.

I bought it to ride but what for it cost I want to keep it looking as good as I can for as long as I can. I guess I'll get the floorboard extenders first, I had them on my last bike and really liked them, then I try the film if that don't cut it. Thanks for all the ideas!
